🏦 FinTrack — Privacy Policy

FinTrack ("the app", "we", "our") is a personal finance tracking application built for Android. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, where it is stored, and how it is used.

1. Data We Collect

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the app:

• Account information — your name and email address when you register or sign in.
• Financial data — transactions, budgets, categories, amounts, dates, and notes that you enter yourself.
• Preferences — display currency and dark-mode preference.

We do not collect location data, contacts, camera access, or any other device information.

2. Where Your Data Is Stored

Authentication data (name, email, password hash) is stored securely on Google Firebase, a cloud platform governed by Google's own Privacy Policy. Firebase stores your credentials on servers in the United States and/or the European Union.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Your name and email are used solely to identify your account and display a personalised greeting.
• Your financial data is used solely to display the Dashboard, Transactions, Budgets, and reports within the app.
• Your preferences are stored locally to remember your chosen currency and display settings.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party service:

• Google Firebase Authentication
  Used for account creation, sign-in, and password reset. Firebase is operated by Google LLC. See Firebase Privacy & Security.

No other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising networks are used in this app.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal data to any third parties. The only entity that receives any data is Google Firebase (for authentication only), as described in Section 4.

6. Data Retention

• Financial data — retained on your device until you delete individual records or uninstall the app.
• Account data — retained in Firebase until you delete your account from within the app (Settings → Sign Out → Delete Account, if implemented) or request deletion via the contact address below.

7. Security

• All communication with Firebase uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Passwords are never stored in the app — Firebase handles authentication using industry-standard secure hashing.
• Local financial data is stored in the app's private storage, inaccessible to other apps on non-rooted devices.
• Android Auto-Backup is disabled for financial data — your transactions and budgets are not automatically uploaded to Google Drive.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data — all financial data is visible in the app. Account info is shown in Settings.
• Export your data — use Transactions → Export CSV at any time.
• Delete your financial data — delete individual transactions and budgets within the app, or uninstall to delete all local data.
• Delete your account — contact us at the email below to request complete account deletion from Firebase.

9. Children's Privacy

FinTrack is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
